Recommendations have been tallied, and the top-rated sites in each of six categories — general job boards, niche tools, career tools, career exploration tools, Web 2.0 and "other" — are now available.

You may file for unemployment insurance using any computer that is connected to the Internet. To file for unemployment in Colorado, click here. You are not required to visit our office in person to file a UI claim. 
CONTACTING UI SESSIONS - A UI Rep from Denver is at the Workforce Center on Tuesdays, starting at 8 a.m. Claimants are seen on a first come, first served basis. Please be prepared to wait to speak with a Rep. A Hotline to the UI office is available on Fridays only at our main location, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road; 9 a.m. – 12 Noon, walk-in only, first come first served. 
WORK NOW PROGRAM - Are you newly unemployed, laid off through no fault of your own? Filed for, or receiving unemployment benefits? If yes, you may qualify for:

- One-on-one intensive services with a Workforce Specialist to polish your resume and perfect your interview skills
- Help developing a job search plan and guidance from a Business Specialist to reach out to key employers
- Access to hard-to-find information to guide your employment search

Do you need one-on-one strategic coaching in your job search? Do you need tuition assistance? Learn how the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program can help you. Pick up an application at any PPWFC front desk, at the Intro to PPWFC orientation, H.I.R.E.D. workshop or at Ask-a-Career Consultant appointment. Then reserve a seat at the next available WIA Adult Orientation.

Friday, September 26,  Professional Image Fair The Pikes Peak Workforce Center, in conjunction with the Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy, Women’s Resource Agency, Discover Goodwill, Men’s Wearhouse and Peak Vista Community Center, presents the Professional Image Fair on Friday, September 26, 2014; 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The event focuses on preparing you, the job seeker, to effectively communicate your value and professionalism to employers by providing haircuts, manicures and image consultations. The Image Fair takes place at the Citizens Service Center, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, CO, ground floor event room. Walk-ins welcome- but you must be registered in Connecting Colorado at www.connectingcolorado.com.

Also presenting at 3:00 p.m. is Clinton Cooper, a motivational speaker, life coach and Social Worker, Cooper has a passion for people and for those who desire to transcend the ties which bind them; using hope as a catalyst and change as an opportunity to be more than your past choices by maximizing your today while being liberated from your yesterdays.

Ask A Career Consultant Have you attended PPWFC’s workshops for help with career planning, job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills but still not met with success? Career Consultants are available to answer your questions and offer suggestions. The Intro to PPWFC orientation is a prerequisite to see a Career Consultant. To reserve your spot, click here.
