To attend a hiring event at Pikes Peak Workforce Center you must RESERVE A SPOT PRIOR to the event. To reserve your spot, please click on the link of the hiring event you want to attend.
 
Unless otherwise noted, all Hiring Events are held at he PPWFC main office, 1675 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, 80907.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
 
Thank you for your interest in our On-The-Job Training Program. Pikes Peak Workforce Center is currently in the process of expanding and improving our program! While we are working on improvements we are not able to offer the On-the-Job Training Program until July 21, 2014. However, we are happy to answer any questions you may have. Magnum Tool Company Hiring Event: Thursday August 7, 2014 from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center. Multiple Positions: MACHINIST CLASS I - Operate N/C mills, N/C Lathes, conventional mills, lathes, grinders and other machines, check and/or inspect machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools, measure all part features, deburr and/or buff parts as necessary, read and interpret all blueprints, drawings and operations sheets necessary to perform assigned production operation, maintain all documentation required, perform periodic cleaning and general maintenance on equipment and/or machinery, as needed or required, operate all machinery in a safe and effective manner, follow assignments through to completion, and understand and follow standard quality operating procedures. MACHINIST CLASS II - Help with setups for less skilled machine operators, read and interpret all blueprints, drawings and operations sheets necessary to perform assigned production operation. Comprehends G, D&T dimensioning, capable of interpreting and performing necessary offsets, maintain all documentation required, perform periodic cleaning and general maintenance on equipment and/or machinery, as needed or required, maintain a clean and safe work area, operate all machinery in a safe and effective manner, be active in problem solving and team meetings, making suggestions on quality and flow improvements, follow assignments through to completion, understand and follow standard quality operating procedures, maintain fluid levels in machines that are being used, and ensure all inspection tools are in calibration. MACHINIST CLASS III - Assist in the training and monitoring of machinists/operators, perform periodic cleaning and general maintenance on equipment and/or machinery, as needed or required, maintain a clean and safe work area, operate all machinery in a safe and effective manner, be active in problem solving and team meetings, making suggestions on quality and flow improvements, follow assignments through to completion, understand and follow standard quality operating procedures, maintain fluid levels in machines that are being used, and ensure all inspection tools are in calibration. Skyline Products Hiring Event: Friday August 8, 2014 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center. Day and night shift multiple positions: WELDERS - Lay out, fit and weld fabricated aluminum components to assemble structural forms, selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding, lay out, positions, aligns, and fits components together, bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding, welds parts, using MIG, and Tig welding processes, assembles parts by bolting and riveting, repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, AWS D 1.2 Aluminum Certification not required but preferred, aluminum fabrication Skills. One to two years related experience and/or training. No certificates and Licenses needed. MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER/DC ASSEMBLERS - Responsible for cutting, fabricating, and assembly of various assembly parts using hand tools and the above machinery. All assembly parts are made out of extruded aluminum and delrin (plastic). Parts are assembled per blue prints and verbal instruction. SHEET METAL FABRICATORS - Operates fabricating machines: such as cutoff saws, shears, and brake presses, forming machines that punch, cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. ELECTRONICS TESTERS - Tests electronic parts. Electronic background preferred, trouble-shooting when sign fails and read Schematics. MECHANICAL, DC AND AC ASSEMBLERS - Responsible for cutting, fabricating, and assembly of various assembly parts using hand tools and the below machinery. All assembly parts are made out of extruded aluminum and delrin (plastic). Parts are assembled per blue prints and verbal instruction. ELECTRONICS ASSEMBLERS - Assembles electronic parts, subassemblies and components by performing the following duties. Come prepared with your updated resume and to interview.
