Volunteer Program

Do you enjoy helping people? If you do, there are volunteer opportunities for you at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center. It's gratifying when you help others achieve their goals!


Volunteer Mission Statement

The mission of the Volunteers who serve at the Pikes Peak Workforce Center is to shape and empower a more skilled workforce for El Paso County, positively influencing our community and the global economy. “Volunteers are the heart of the Pikes Peak Workforce Center.”


Volunteer Opportunities:

Front Desk Receptionist - Assists in answering inquiries and obtaining information for general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties

Customer Support Assistant for busy Resource Room - Assists job seekers in navigating our website and obtaining employment-related information. Must be experienced working with computer applications; Microsoft windows, Internet, email and Microsoft Word

Registration Assistant – Assists customers with entering information in the Pikes Peak Workforce Center database.

Clerical Support Aide - Assists PPWFC staff with various projects and clerical tasks as needed

Marketing Specialist - Assists in developing marketing/publicity strategy or campaign for the Volunteer program

Resume/Mock Interview Job Coach – Provides one-on-one resume instruction and mock interview coaching for job seekers

IT Support Assistant – Provide IT support with reference to Microsoft Windows, network configuration and maintenance – must have experience with software and hardware

Special Projects – Assignments are based on individual skill sets


Volunteer Opportunities available to:
  • Adults
  • Seniors
  • Interns
  • Retirees
  • Youth
  • Military
  • Corporations

Volunteer shifts are available Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  A minimum of four hours per week is required.

How to Apply/Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Complete an application, interview and pass a background check
